Message from the Director

Picture of Suzanne MurphyDear Martinez Community,

Welcome to the fall quarter and our listing of class offerings for both fall and winter. It is hard to believe that we are entering into the 24/25 school year. This will be my eighth year as the Director of Martinez Adult Education. It truly has been a pleasure serving Martinez and the surrounding communities and helping to offer classes and programs that meet the needs of adults who are looking to continue their education, learn the skills for a new or first career, or improve themselves overall.

We have two new innovative programs that we are offering in the fall including an Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding, specifically to support our English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, but open to all, and how to successfully apply and be awarded grants, in the Introduction to Grant Writing. We continue to offer our highly successful Optical Assistant Apprenticeship Training Program and Pharmacy Technician Training Program at no cost. We have new employer partners that are ready to offer positions to graduates from these programs. If you are interested plan to attend one of the many orientations or make an appointment to meet with one of our staff to help you decide.

We continue to offer classes morning, afternoon, and evening to accommodate those in our community so that they can attend classes at their convenience. Our dedicated teachers and staff are always here to assist and support you as you pursue either your career or educational goals.

Welcome back to our continuing students and a warm welcome to students just joining us. Here is to a fantastic fall/winter season filled with growth, discovery, and achievement.

Sincerely,

Murphy Signature

Suzanne Murphy,
Director
